Hello everyone!
Today, we're thrilled to announce that pre-orders with instant access for Interstellar Space: Genesis are now open!
You can now grab a copy and see for yourself what we've been cooking for you for the past three and a half years.
By buying the game now through the humble widget here you get immediate access to the current game build and will receive all future updates including the final release. We're currently at Pre-Alpha.
The game is not yet on Steam but we definitely plan to be on Steam in the near future, at which point we should be able to get Steam keys for all the people who wish it and pre-order now.
We commit to have a DRM-free version always available to our customers, now, in all future updates and after we release.
The game is for Windows (64-bit) only at the moment, but we plan to have Mac and Linux versions for the release or some time after that.
Now the disclaimer. The game is already playable but is a Pre-Alpha and not finished yet. There are still some missing and placeholder graphics, music and sound effects, and features that have not yet been implemented. We expect that there will be changes made to the game design and a continuing refinement of overall balance. So, expect some incompleteness and rough edges still.
Anyone who wants to write a preview or do a youtube video, please go for it! Everyone is free, and encouraged, to stream and write about ISG from this point forward.
Why pre-orders now?
As already stated in the pre-orders announcement, the reason to open pre-orders with instant access now is twofold:
We have reached a stage in the project where we think the game, albeit incomplete, is already in an acceptable shape to be played and enjoyed by the public, especially by the hardcore 4X and strategy gaming community. As a community-driven project, we expect to collect a lot more feedback from everyone who pre-order, still in a relatively early stage of development, so that we can improve the current design and be able to provide a great game at release for everybody. We have forums set up so that everyone can discuss the game here.
The other main reason to open pre-orders now is to secure additional funds to buy cutscenes and better graphics, music and sound effects for the game, so that we can upgrade the production values considerably and be able to deliver a great experience for everyone at release (which should happen somewhere in Q4 2018, if all goes according to plan).
More information on the game, including the features list, screenshots and system requirements can be found on the Interstellar Space: Genesis official website.

Thank you!
Interstellar Space: Genesis (formely Project Space Sector) is a spiritual successor to Master of Orion 2, the turn-based space 4X strategy game from the 90's that we love so much. This will be a faithful successor, that is true in spirit to the series. We believe that by sticking to its fundamentals we will please the fans who want to feel the atmosphere and that “feeling” of Master of Orion 2, but also want to experience something new and fresh, with all the complexity and depth of a big and complex 4X game. You can join the discussions here. Pre-Orders with instant access are now open!
We are Praxis Games, a young development studio devoted to making great strategy games with deep and complex gameplay for a diverse set of settings and themes. We strongly believe in good and solid gameplay first, community-driven development, product quality and extensive post-support work to keep our clients as satisfied as possible, so that we can keep making great games for them for a long time to come!

Good luck and God Speed fellas
Thanks Dan. It’s been a long ride, and the path is still long and narrow ahead. However, we’re proud of what we’ve achieved so far and we believe we can make something special with the help of the community.
See you around, and good luck in your ventures as well.
hey guys, I dont want to be a prick and I really honor the effort and work youve put into this game.
But a few questions come to mind: what makes this different from, lets say, Stars in Shadow, which Im sure you know ?
Ofc I can only judge from the pics and the trailer that Ive seen.
Hey Dragnir,
that’s a very pertinent question. So, what will set this game apart from others? This same question was asked on our forums on this thread shortly after we announced the game, with my response here.
Another good reply to this question (even more up to date with the game’s current status) on what makes this game unique was provided by a forum member here.
You can find more information on the game, including what makes it special, on our announcement post and on the game features list.
Just thought I’d say congrats guys on reaching this milestone… I’ve been focusing on my career development and haven’t really logged in here (or anywhere!) since the announcement here some time ago.
Well, career nicely developed and I have free time again, so imagine my surprise at logging in and seeing a playable build! From the looks of things, (and the noise on the forums) probably more playable than some of the fully released dross that festoons my Steam library!
So, despite swearing off any form of early access/ pre-order after many a turkey purchased, I decided i’d give it one last hurrah and bought in.
Hope to play some this evening, though I don’t plan to play much if its good since I don’t wan’t any burnout before its launched (shudders at the memory of 50+ hrs put into Horizon before (failed) Launch .
Once again, well done guys, hopefully this will be the game we (and you) want it to be!
Chuki
Thanks Chuki! Good to know you’re feeling good about your career and that you’ve got some free time in your hands now.
Looking forward for your impressions on the game on its current state. Any feedback and suggestions you could spare would be most welcome so that we can have the best game possible in the end.
Thanks again!
Cheers,
Adam
Looking forward to this. I can’t afford to buy it for another 3 weeks or so (my i7 motherboard died and I am stuck on my old 2nd generation i5 system for the time being) because I need to build a new system, but I will gladly support this. I hope eventually you will have a linux version as well, but it’s not a must have for me. Also, you might have this in a FAQ or already answered, but will this eventually be on Steam?
Thanks for your support Buxaroo! We plan to have a Linux version (and a Mac one as well) at release or some time after that.
The game is not yet on Steam but we definitely plan to be on Steam in the near future, at which point we should be able to get Steam keys for all the people who wish it and pre-order now.
So, we’ll be on Steam but we commit to also have a DRM-free version always available to our customers, now, in all future updates and after we release.
By the way, here’s the full FAQ in case you need more clarifications.
Preorder link is down and shows a 404…
Please do not mess up the User Interface! Especially the colony dialog from MOO2 was perfect and crucial for managing the game..
Good Luck,
Ghent
Hey Ghent, thanks for letting us know about the dead link, it is fixed now.
As for the colony user interface, we kept the colony view from MoO2 where you can see the buildings on the terrain while you manage your colony (actually the buildings in ISG aren’t being shown yet but they will soon). We believe seeing the actual buildings on the terrain was something that made MoO2 special in that part of the game, now in fully procedural terrains, where no colony will look the same.
As for managing the empire colonies UI, we provide a quick way for you to access and manage all of your colonies through a quick overview UI always accessible through the starmap.
If you happen to pre-order and play the game let us know what you think.
Thanks again.
